September 15, 2025 – With the digital release order "Secure Release Order (SRO)," German Ports is entering a new era of import processing at German seaports. The platform operators DAKOSY and dbh are deliberately opting for a staggered introduction to ensure a safe and smooth transition for all parties involved.
The three-step plan at a glance:
- Starting October 1: Shipping companies will begin PIN-free container release via SRO in Hamburg, Bremerhaven, and Wilhelmshaven.
- By November 2: Freight forwarders, importers, and carriers will be gradually brought on board.
- Starting November 3: Mandatory use of the procedure, initially at two selected terminals.
- Starting November 17: Rollout to all other terminals.
