Where the Future Meets Practice
On 17 September 2026, we will be taking part in Future & Career Day at the Berufliche Schule St. Pauli in Hamburg. This career and training fair is aimed at students who are interested in demanding commercial professions and would like to gain initial insights into different industries, training opportunities and career paths.
Future & Career Day gives young people the opportunity to meet companies, trainers and HR representatives in person. This direct exchange is what makes the event so valuable: students can ask questions, learn more about different professions, find out about available training positions and discover which career path best matches their interests and strengths. The event also focuses on personal conversations with company representatives, on-site applications, open training positions and information about further training opportunities, including dual study programmes at Berufliche Hochschule Hamburg.
We are looking forward to speaking with many interested young people and showing them just how diverse the international world of chemical trading and specialty chemicals can be. After all, trading chemical raw materials involves much more than simply moving goods from one place to another. It is about international markets, reliable supply chains, customer support, purchasing, sales, logistics, documentation and a strong understanding of commercial processes.
For students interested in commercial tasks, our industry offers exciting prospects. Chemical trading combines organisational skills, communication, responsibility and international thinking. Anyone who enjoys working with people, understanding processes and finding solutions for customers can discover a wide range of development opportunities in this professional field.
Future & Career Day provides the ideal setting for this. The fair highlights the opportunities offered by typical Hamburg industries and shows how varied commercial training professions can be. In addition to sectors such as banking, insurance, law, trade, shipping and logistics, visitors will also have the chance to explore related professional fields and recognise the similarities between different training paths.
Open dialogue is especially important to us. What does training in chemical trading involve? What tasks do trainees take on in their everyday work? Which skills are helpful? And what opportunities are available after completing training? We will be happy to answer these and many other questions in person on site.
Students who already have application documents prepared are welcome to bring them along. But even without completed documents, a visit is worthwhile: Future & Career Day is a great opportunity to make first contacts, gain orientation and get a better feeling for which career could be the right fit.
